Toddler Program

The teachers help guide children through many activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor play, games, story and group time. Your child will build heir language awareness through name and letter writing, letter identification, and a phonics program. They will be exposed to math relationships, numbers, number writing, counting, matching, sequencing, measurement, sets, colors, and shapes

We realize that this is the most vital time in your child's life so we have a staff that will love and nurture your child in your absence, which is out first priority.

Our Toddler development program begins with establishing eye contact, hand/eye coordination, music, motor skills and language development along with a lot of love and understanding. Each day you will receive a report on feeding, napping and diapering times all recorded.

Teachers develop literacy in the children by continually exposing them to oral and written language, and by building on prior knowledge and experience.

Partnering With Parents

Parent Involvement

Parental involvement is at the core of all successful child care centers and we are vey strong supporters of active participation and engagement.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are offered twice per year, for our VPK program there are three conferences offered. These are offered to help the parents understand how their child's development learning is evolving and the following areas are discussed:

How is the child is doing in class?

Any concerns observed in the child's development including speech, vision, behavior, etc. Parents also have the opportunity to bring up areas for discussion.

  • Classroom Visits

Parents are encouraged to spend a day in their child's classroom. Maybe to come in and read stories to the children, sing or play children's music, help out during the day with art programs, prepare snacks and maybe just hang out with your child.

  • Open House

Open House is held in August parents are notified three weeks in advance. During these sessions the teacher will show your child what they will be working on in the year ahead. This is a nice way for your child and his/her teacher to get to know each other.

  • Celebration Days

We encourage family time and so we have several celebration days: You will see that healthy eating habits are woven into these celebrations, to emphasize that healthy eating practice works outside the regular school week.

    • Thanksgiving Dinner - All family and friends are encouraged to come in and join us for a family-style thankful lunch.
    • Mother's and Father's Day - Children spend a week working hard and preparing gifts for their mom and dad. We prepare a special "mommy on the go breakfast bag" and Doughnuts with Coffee for Daddy.
  • Parent Volunteers

We ALWAYS welcome parents to volunteer, these are guidelines that are required for any parent to volunteer:

    • Any volunteer must sign an affidavit
    • Wear comfortable clothing
    • No open-toe shoes, preferably sneakers
    • No smoking on the premises
    • Children need to hear positive words (foul language is prohibited)
    • Eating with children is permitted only at, Breakfast, Snack, and Lunch, and the food needs to be the same as the children's.
